? about giving my 150 a spring cleaning

hey guys i was thinking about giving my tank a spring cleaning this weekend. i wanted to take out my live rock and give them a nice light cleaning in some fresh salt water in a bucket.and also clean that sand thats been under that live rock for so long.that way i can rearrange my rock work and do a 30% waterchange,if it doesnt sound right how would u guys go about it can i hear some suggestions thanks.

A good waterchange and siphoning the detritus would be a better idea. Removing the rock and vacuuming under the rocks is a good way to kick start a cycle and cause other issues.

+1 to what hop said. i just blow all my rock off with a turkey baster before i do a water change and call it good

If a friend wanted me to help them clean out a 150 with rock and what not I'd say I was sick. haha.

I mean if you want a new aquascape by all means take out the rock and re work it.

Disturb the sand a little and get all the poo out, siphon.

Then put your rock back. I wouldn't clean.

I think you'll be shocked at the amount of crap hidden in the LR and sand. I wouldn't recommend stirring up that pot of detritus.

oh ok i just did a 48gallon waterchange and just left the rock alone and only syphoned the sand a little
