? about reeflux 12k

I just purchased a used reeflux 12k (2mo/4hrs/day). It seems VERY dim. I was wondering if that was common for this bulb? I think the bulb is deffective, but thought I would ask first. FYI it isn't neasrly as bright as a 175w xm20k if that helps with comparsion.

are you running it on electronic or magnetic ballasts? that will make a difference in brightness.

Magnetic. This is a 250w SE bulb by the way, it was previously ran on an icecap.

I am using the reeflux 12k's and find them to bighter than my old 14k's.

There is no way the 250w RL 12k is dim compared to any 175w bulb.

Did the person you bought it from lie to you? About how old it is?

They claimed it was 2months old w/ 4hrs a day. I mentioned to them after I received it that the inner glass looked very dark for being so new. They claimed that was all the longer it was ran by them.

The reason I think it is defective is because the first couple times I turned it on, it would flicker a bright white a few times and then settle on the dim blue. I don't believe it to be a ballast issue as it still fires my xm10k perfectly fine.
