? about the purigen in my last order

Hi!

Just received my latest order, which included 3 100ml bags of purigen. I've used purigen in the past and it's always been light yellow (almost white) when new, and then darkens to a medium tan/brown - think tanned skin.

These 3 bags all came with the purigen being MUCH darker - like to to the point where I would normally have regenerated at this color.

Did Seachem change the formula, or should I bleach these bags before use? Thanks.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your order with us. I was actually going to put a link to this thread in the SeaChem forum, but I noticed you already posted the question in their forum also.

I am not aware of any changes to the formula, but we actually have a SeaChem rep coming in to speak with us this week and I will ask him about the Purigen for you and respond with an answer if they have not yet responded to your post in their forum.

Hi Chris,

We spoke with Seachem about the Purigen. Purgien will reach that color if it has been exposed to air for a long period of time but it will not affect how well the Purigen works. It will still turn a darker shade of brown when it needs to be recharged.

Hope that helps,

Eugene Y.
