I went to Pets Inc today, just because I got out of work early, and haven't seen their transition yet. First, I must say, it is nice, they need more SW stuff (livestock, LR, etc) but overall, it looks very good in there! They are missing some stuff in the dry goods area that I regularly buy, but prices weren't bad at all on most things. As far as CS, I was approached by 3 different guys asking if I need any help---and they were friendly. I didn't end up purchasing anything, but the CS was good today!
 
I'm a noob as well and just recently purchased my very first fish at ATR....I also bought a nano clown there. So far he's been a great fish and Katie was a GREAT help when I was looking at him. He hasn't gone near my frog spawn yet. ATR was the first SWFS I had ever been to and by far my favorite! The slightly higher prices IMO are way worth it because the livestock is in great shape.

I think all LFS's and their employees SUCK! :eek:

I don't really think that, but this thread needs some levity. We've descended into the bottomless pit of bashing the bashers who bashed the original basher for bashing the LFS.....

Wait... what did I just say?

You know one thing that just occurred to me on this whole CS experience thing is that we may know what the CS person is doing when we are standing there but we have no idea what they were doing five minutes before we walked in.

I remember one time I was at Pets Inc. just about to purchase a fish when a woman walked in, hijacked the conversation quite forcefully with her screaming kid and proceeded to drag the poor girl (I don't know her name) around the store for 45 minutes or an hour to buy this pretty green one (a Hector's goby) and that one (a bluespotted jawfish to replace the one that was apparently the source of her sons tantrum)(it committed suicide in what I can only consider a very rational decision on its part) and five or six other pretty fish. She didn't care about what they ate or if they were compatible or even what they were called. She wanted new fish. To say the girl was harried and exhausted and unhappy at the end of the ordeal is an understatement. The only reason I stayed to watch the spectacle was because they had one tank raised coral goby left and I wasn't leaving without it.
 
My apologies to anyone if you thought that my post was a bash on ATR. I just think that the situation could have been handled better on both parts. I was just voicing my opinion.
 
Just when I breath a sigh of relief because I think this thread has died it pops up again. I would like to officially ask the FRAG community to give this a rest, please.

Yes what a stand up guy skip...NOT. Only after having pressure from this forum did he adjust the return for price. AS for the reasonablness of his actions in this case I still do not agree. Like I said I work retail and bend over backwards to help customers recoup their loses even when it is their mistake. That is how they learn and I build a stronger relationship with them in the future. I am in a business where these kind of mistakes can have serious and life and death consequenses and my customers have never been allowed to pay for an honest mistake or even misjudgement on their part. Like I said THAT IS the extra mile that get's my attention and does not meet my own standards of being OUTSTANDING rather than "just somebody in business to make a buck" I can see how some of you may have lower standards it is not meant as a slap to you but a calling to higher standards for us all, especially SKIP. Sincerely Steve.

Steve, by any chance did you read any other post in this thread besides your own? I'm glad they are taking care of it for you but nowhere did you take even a little responsibility for what happened. Even after they decided to help you when they don't have too, you post again bashing them. Skip has helped many people here on the board and built a good reputation that this one thread will not be able to hurt. Start coming to FRAG meetings, learn a lot more about this hobby, and you will do much better. I think we've all agreed that this thread needs to die. I haven't posted on this thread since the first page but your last post was pretty low.
 
Ok I am starting to get realllllllly ticked off here.
1. have you called skipp out in person.
2. I think we all know what kind of crappy customer service all LFS's have, ATR is not the only store in arizona. if you don't like ATR go to another store.
3. Steve atleast they are tring to make it right, he could have said F U. but he didn't. how many stores won't have msde it right. look 99% of stores are you buy it you own it. its that simple.

atr is not the only crappy store in this state.
I am sure you could get crappy service from any LFS in this state why keep this going?
