AC III PRO battery backup

I have an AC III PRO, and recently had a huge loss due to a tripped breaker.

Will the AC III PRO send emails in the event of a power outage if the cable modem has power? I saw there is an "alternate battery" for power failure, yet I cannot find one on etailers stores. I dont want to just use a normal computer battery backup, since that wont trip the AC unit to email me telling me of the power outage.

so you just need an additional power supply to plug into the "battery" port on the AC unit? This power supply would be run through the UPS?

Yes, that is what is recommended.

curt can you give me the size of the plug and the polarity so I can get another dc converter for it? IE, positive inside or out, and what is the size plug?

It is a 3.5 mm phono plug, 9VDC, tip positive, and must be at least 200 mA.
