acan buds - I think

I've got something interesting happening with my acan. It appears to have formed a bud - at least I think that's what it is after having done some reading. At first, it seemed like a polyp had something odd hanging off of it. We even wondered if there was a bit of damaged tissue or glob that we should clip. We decided to watch for a few days, and now we can tell that is an entire little polyp hanging there. The weight of it own little skeleton has drooped it to the rock surface but it is not attached to it. It is however still attached to the mother polyp. We are wondering if it is OK to snip it away and attach it to its own substrate. I'm a little concerned that if it breaks on its own, the bud may get blown somewhere in the tank never to be seen again. On the other hand, I don't want to damage either mother or daughter by rushing this. Any experience?

Mostly likely a new Acan head, they produce quite fast in the right conditions. Thats why more and more are being farmed, hopefully the Aussie prices drop like indo prices did a few years back.......

Leave it and let it attach, you will get more, when you frag it you can cut the rock it grows on with a wet bandsa, jewlery saw, or a dremel.
