Acan food

What is the best food that you guys use for you cans? Mine is shrinking, I feed mysis but I can't do it on a regular basis.

I feed mine a mix. I use Kent Microvert, Coral Frenzy and a frozen mix like LRS. I target feed once or twice a month but broadcast feed 2 or 3 times a week. I've got several acan and micromusa frags and they are all doing well and adding heads.

Rods food, cyclopeeze, reef roids, lrs reef frenzy, and selcon all mixed together. All my corals love this from sps to lps.

I have quite a few fish so fish poo as well.

My acans are not dead they still have flesh, how do I bring them back. They got turned over by my Wrasse digging in for the night and I didn't notice for a couple days.

As long as you have good water parameters and it's in a low light and low flow area it should come back. You could do an iodine dip to help it avoid bacteria infection.

Do you have any pictures of it now?

Feeding or what you feed isn't the problem in your (OP's) situation. But they should be fed meaty sea foods on a regular basis.

Yours looks quite capable of bouncing back. Get it mounted on a rock as soon as it recovers after testing the location, and keep it face up!

I guess I will have to mount it, my blue hippo keeps tossing it around as a toy and it keeps landing upside down. A couple other fish have joined in to play, it's their new fav thing. Ugh.

Interesting what the fish are doing - It sounds like play behavior. Never heard about that from fish before besides surfing a powerhead or something. You should get a video of that.

I would test your acan frag at its proposed permanent location before committing to epoxy & glue if you can. Mild broad flow, lower light. GL.

Thanks, I came home from work and my lights were already off. I will try tomorrow morning but my lights aren't on. It so funny! They just toss it around like a toy.
