Question, I recently got an acan from a fellow reefer who is getting out of the hobby and i currently have it in my nano. I went to get some cyclopeze and the lfs told me that the skimmer needs to be in good shape when i use it. Apparently the cyclopeze has a lot of fats in it and those will mess with my parameters. One problem, I dont have a skimmer set up, just a fuge with some chaeto.

First of all, will this cause a problem, and if it does, can you suggest another food that i can use.

Any advise would be great.

Should be fine w/o a skimmer, just don't over do it. Your best bet is to spot feed so you're not just dumping it into the system, grab a water bottle and cut off the top portion (if the colony is small enough) and use it like a reverse funnel so the majority of the food stays within reach of the acan colony.

So what is the going rate for Acans. My LFS had a nice frag about the size of a golf ball or so for $120. Really cool colors, but not that cool at he time. I do want some though. Just the type of stuff I like.

We pay much less than that for acans.. I will say that we are spoiled with our selection of acans and other jems here in Canada..

Some grow much quicker than others.
