but the person said probably jap because of the colors.. I just wanted to get a second opinion

indo acans are cheap in california.... my lfs has some for 40-50 about that size if not bigger

How can you tell whether it's indo or aussie? And why would that make a price difference, shouldn't the piece speak for itself?

No way to really tell. People usually base location on the colors and GENERALLY it works but as with all things, there are exceptions to the rule. That being said, I will agree with the others that it is from Indo.
