Acans and amphipods

No... I've never seen pods harrassing any of my corals. I have seen them crawling around in zoos (no apparent damage or ill effects), but in those pictures it is on a type of red bubble algae.

Off topic but I have had excellent success getting a scopas tang to eat that type of RBA.
 
The pictures of those scans looks just like what mine looked like when they started to head south. It would never happen to more than one colony at a time, and coincidentally, it never happened before I had amphipods in the tank either. I had a mandarin at one point that wiped out every single pod in my tank, never saw one of any variety for about a year until they obviously hitchhiked in on something. From then until about 2 months ago, I had as many as 8 healthy, rapidly-growing acan colonies. I can't help but consider the possible correlation there.
