I picked up this little guy this weekend. He is really small maybe 1 1/2 inches.I got a great deal on him as he was showing a bit of ich on one fin.He is now in my qt with some quinine sulfate and is eating everything i have put in the tank.I was recently in the bahamas and did some snorkeling around nassau and saw alot of these fish. Here is a pic of him.

I thought i would add a few pics of atlantis while i am at it.A bad camera along with limited camera skills made for not great pics but here are a few:)

Anyone have one of these in their tank either juvenile or adult with pics they could share?I think this a great fish that i have not seen in alot of tanks at least in my area.

Honestly i dont know for sure. The fish i saw when snorkeling where as you described. He is really small so i would be surprised if he is transitioning already. The only thing i can think of is that the ich he has is stressing him out and maybe that is just stress colors?I will take another pic later on after i treat him with the medications and see if his colors have changed much.

You have a juvenile colored coeruleus. They turn blue when adult, but have a transition color with blue body and yellow tail. Coeruleus get ich really easy, so qt it well. And feed it a lot with a good amount of algae. They really love it.

Ty junio.I give him an algae clip daily and feed him a few times a day with spectrum pellets, rods food and mysis.I think what is off on the color is that he is not quite as bright yellow as others i have seen as juveniles which could be parasites bothering him although he seems pretty happy in the qt.I have him under medication to take care of the ich so we will see after the treatment is done.

Here is an updated pic of this guy still in qt.Having looked back at the first pic his color looks alot better to me.-Kieth

Your right, clearly he looks much better than when you first got him, great job!

Nice fish, and a drastic color change that will be fun to watch.

Great fish. Mine was about 3" when I got it and had the blue adult colors. It stayed blue while in qt but after a few days in my display, it turned back to it's yellow juv colors.

Right after I added it. (c.binotatus took a few swipes at it's tail)
