Acceptable PH and Temp for BTA?

So I'm thinking of getting a Green BTA soonish. My aquarium's temp hangs around 79-80 degrees all the time, and my ph bounces between 7.9-8.1 through the day, (goes up to 8.2-3 when I'm out of the house for a few days). Are these acceptable parameters, or are they still fluxuating too much? From what i've read they like cooler water (around 75-78 degrees) and ph from 8.1-8.4, but I wanted to see what you guys were able to keep them at..

My tank is a little over 4 months old.

I think your temp and ph is fine. I would say specific gravity and nitrates are also important, 1.025-1.027 and as close to undetectable as possible, respectively.

My pH is always 7.9 -8.1 and temp is 78-80F. I don't think your pH and temps are a problem. I'd recommend you reconsider the GBTA in favor of a Rose. It's just my personal experience, but I have found GBTA much more difficult to keep alive (me and a few friends). Good luck.

IME, nitrates are not an issue. In fact, nems seem to thrive with sub-optimal water conditions. Mine have done very well with nitrates well over 100. Other critters in the tank didn't like it, but the nems did just fine. Of course, try to keep things under control, but don't panic when things go haywire.

is there a process to acclimation if you order from online? Should you put some prime in the bag when you open it to neutralize the ammonia after the water is exposed to air? I know you should do a drip acclimation.. any other tips?

I wouldn't add anything to the bag except your tank water. If there is a lot of water in the bag and the nem is small, take some of the original water out of the bag before you start the drip process.
