I have port forwarding set and it connects as long as I am in the house.
I alo set DDNS using chickenkiller and if I use the assigned name it connects as well as long as I am using a PC connected to the network. So i know that it sees it.
Has anyone experience this in the past?

Port forwarding is set as:
IP Address 192.168.0.20
Start Port 80
End Port 80
IP Address 24.0.108.162
Start Port 80
End Port 80
Prot TCP
Description Apex1
Enabled Yes

Your ISP may be blocking port 80. Try a different external/public port. Pick an easily-remembered number between 1027 and 9999.

I am using Comcast , so port 80 is available. I tried using another port just in case as well.
My issue is that I cannot connect to my Apex when I am outside the house on a different network. I have port forwarding enabled.

What about windows firewall or other security software settings? Could they be your problem?

I have comcast and had the same problem as you do. I called them up and they said that the router that they use for residential, do not support "port forwading". You will have to upgrade to business class. I tried and tried and tried and just gave up. I had them bridge the router to my ASUS wireless router and now I have no problem accessing my APEX from anywhere (LAN and WAN).
One other thing, you will have to change the port number on the APEX to something else other than 80.
I'm glad I purchased my own router as everything is much faster compared to that crappy comcast modem.

Take a look at this thread as someone else had the same problem and switched the comcast router to get it to work. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2269724

This is my own modem.

Try getting your current IP address and see if you can connect to your apex from outside your home. Not the 192.168.x.x number but your public IP address found in your router or modem. http://your_ip:80
