Accidental Fragging

So I got my first SPS, a small piece of birds nest, and as I was placing it in the tank I accidentally knocked off a couple of small 1" limbs... so I was upset, but what's done is done. My question is can I glue those to a base and let them grow or are they done for. They have been in the tank looking fine since that time, just not attached to anything.

Thanks in advance

That's exactly how I got these and many others, by knocking the tips off branches (or breaking a colony while trying to move it). They will grow even if you don't glue them down, but it makes life much harder in terms of placing them and handling them. When you glue them down I've had best success with doing so horizontally, they seem to grow faster and encrust better.

Happens plenty, they will be fine, I had about 5 accidental frags this past weekend catching a fish in the tank, just glued them to a base and they will grow on their own.

OK cool, I used some gel superglue to attach a frag of capnella for a friend, I'm assuming that will be fine for the seriatopora...
