Acclimate donut to LED

So I just bought a donut coral two days ago. I put it on the sand with half of the coral is shaded while the other half is exposed to LED. Yesterday the coral didn't spread at all, but today half of it that's shaded is. Does it mean that the unshaded part is exposed to too much light? Should I cover all of them in shaded spots? Thanks.

idk what lighting you have... but put it hear the bottom. i run my LED's at 50% on my LPS tank... don't want to risk burnin anyone

It's ecoray 112D hanging 7 inch on top of the tank. The tank depth is around 25 inch.
