Acclimating mail order snails

I have ordered some Cerith snails online and they will be delivered on Tuesday, I was just wondering about acclimation. Normally with snails you drip for several hours, however I read that when shipping overnight ammonium can build up in the bag and when the bag is opened it converts to ammonia and can kill the bags inhabitants when using the drip method. Is this the case just for fish or inverts too?

All I ever do with snail acclimation is to 15 min float bag for temp and then drop them in the tank. I've never lost any snails or hermits doing this.

But if you insist on full drip acclimation you can drop a capful of Prime or Amquel in the bag as soon as you open the bag to combat the ammonia issue. I do this when acclimating fish as well.

I like the Prime idea, although I would have to go out and buy some. I dont like the idea of just dumping them in due to differences in SG. Ive been told a shock change in water parameters can cause a slow death rather than an instant one.
