Acclimating Steve Garrett's Acros to tank lights ?

I bought a handful of wonderful Acros from Steve this weekend and now I'm trying to decide what kind of light acclimation makes sense. I put them in a tank that gets a couple of hours of sunlight every morning. Combined PAR with the tanks lights is 600-650 for about 75 minutes of that period. After the sun moves it's down to 250 from the tank lights and I can of course reduce it further. Photo period would normally be 9 hours.

Anyone have experience with his frags and Winter acclimation ?

Here's sunrise this morning. They had full polyp extension all day yesterday and again this morning.

I have a ton of frags from him I was actually there on sun for me I run 400 watt radiums and just put them on the bottom to start and move as they get used to my conditions his frags iN my opinion are super hardy and used to a little harsher environment so do well for me compared to other frags I've gotten from other people plus he's a nice guy :) u may want to give them a shorter light cycle if u notice anything come up other then that I've never had any problems just throwing them in with 7.0 hours of 400 watt metal halides

I agree start them on the bottom and bring them up slowly I use 250w and never had any problems with his frags..

Thanks for the replies.

I've done just that, started them on the sand and shortened the photo period a couple of hours. They're looking great so far. Just 2 days in my tank and they're already coloring up! :bounce1:

I have several of Garret's frags. I didnt do much by way of light acclimation, if anything i thought my system would have weaker light. The frags are under a 250DE 12K with 4xt5 actinics. The frags started and remain half way up on a 12 inch tall platform. What I did notice is that many of his frags are really light in color, but will darken nicely with time. First picture was March, second yesterday.

Since he uses only natural daylight, and we're in some of the shortest days of the year, that's why I was trying to decide how to acclimate.

I cut the photo period significantly the first day, increased it a bit the second and already the frags have colored up significantly.

I have a feeling his stuff is pretty bullet proof if you're tank's stable.

Yup that's the Garf.

It's amazing how quickly these have colored up. Full sun again this morning for a couple of hours and then just LEDs. They hit 650 PAR with the sun and then get another 6 hours of 250 PAR. They're doing great.

The bottom left Is garf bonsai ... I have a pieces of it that looks the same hasn't darkened yet I'm curious to see some of his stuff colored up? Random
Pieces

I have many before and afters from Garret's, but dont want to hijack Reefvets thread. And I do recognize the light GARF because i have it too.

Ok, ill start with the Garf. Ive had trouble with this piece; some STN. I think coloring can get better. March (top left) to today (bottom right)
