Acclimating to MH too fast?

I have a 1 1/2 inch maxima that was under 96 W PC lighting for 3 weeks. I put it in my main tank with 2-250W MH. He is about 1/2 way up in the tank. How can I tell if the lighting is too strong too fast. I put him in a few minutes ago, and he has opened nicely.

Watch to make sure he does not bleach. I would put him on the substrate and slowly raise him up into your LR. Maybe shorten your photo period and slowly increase that as well.

When I switched from my 120w of PC to 400w of MH on my 29, I was told to just turn it on and let it be. Never had a problem, even with shrooms and softies.
