I don't know the proper way to do it but I brought a purple tang back from the beach in 1.014 and brought it up to 1.024 in about 3 to 4 hours at about a medium to fast drip how quick it comes up depends on how much water the fish is in mine was in about a gallon and took for ever I kept taking water off of the fish so the salinity would rise hope this helps
A couple drops a second for 3-4 hour does the trick in most cases. Make sure you turn the tank lights off when you do add the new fish into the tank to lower the stress level.
Wow! That's really unusual to see a fish come in higher than 1.022-1.026. Be very careful of ph. If that starts rising or falling, be careful. That's almost as dangerous as the salinity: but salinity needs to match within about .001.
sk8r I always read it was more likely they would be low on salinity never thought of high. My ph and thiers is only 0.2 difference. So I figure not so bad.
