Acclimation of Flow, is this possible?

Is this possible?

I was at the Lfs last weekend, they have a gorgeous 15+ head Duncan colony. I looked at this colony over a month ago. It is getting BLASTED by flow, constantly. I thought it was gonna end badly or get moved. Last week, a month later it is doing great in the same spot. More heads etc.

I inquired about its growth and the amount of flow on it. The owner piped up and said that you can acclimate a coral to flow. I haven't read anything about this, just wondering if it can be done or was he blowing smoke?

Im not sure about this. I know when my mp10 is on my duncan is not as happy as when its not and the flow from my return is hitting it. Personally I don't think they can but thats just my opinion.

I'll take a video next time I stop by there if it hasn't sold. I am shocked at the flow rate.
