As a general rule, you'll be better off matching the salinity of the QT to the salinity in the bag, floating for a few minutes to get the temperature to match and then letting the fish free into the QT. Drip acclimation can actually be very detrimental especially for fish tht have been in the bag for any length of time.
If you aren't using a QT, then float the bag according to the procedure in the link above. I have never used drip acclimation and have never lost a fish from acclimation failure. Salinity is the big one - temp is too, but easy to match by floating.
