Achilles sightings???

I'm looking to get married & have my honeymoon in Hawaii in May 2009. Haven't decided on an island yet........leaning toward Maui. I plan on staying in the water most of the time snorkeling & diving (plan on doing open water referral when I'm there). Well the Achilles Tang is my dream fish & I'd love to see them while I'm there but I haven't seen many pictures @ all of them in the wild. Any personal experiences or suggestions on where to see these fish while in Hawaii.............other than the Waikiki Aquarium. :)

I was just in Maui last month. I saw hundreds of them on the inner reef at Molokini. I too am a huge fan of them, and too see them in the wild was an awesome experience.

I saw them in Maui as well. Saw some at Molokini crater. Had to get way up towards where the surf hit the rocks and there they were. Getting slammed and loving it!

Also saw a lot at Lanai'i in a similar zone of the reef. Lots of bubbles and current, but there they were, tight to the rocks in shallow water getting banged around.

Beautiful fish!

We went with Pacific Whale Foundation out of Maalea Bay. Highly recommend it if you're just into snorkling vs diving.
