ACII clock keeps resetting

Every couple of days the tank clock keeps resetting

Example:

Monday I set it to the following:

Clock= November 1 2005 12:00
Tank= November 1 2005 09:00
Reef = November 1 2005 12:00

On Wednesday, out of the blue, I find it as the following:

Clock= November 1 2005 12:00
Tank= November 1 2005 12:00
Reef = November 1 2005 12:00

I changed the battery to a new one and it still does it. I know it is not power because otherwise it would be reset to some January 01, 1981 or something like that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Driving me up the wall here.

I reset the clock just before I posted the thread (actually resetting the clock is what prompted the post) and now it is 9:15 CST and it went back to the way it was before. Out of the blue it is doing it and it is driving me nutz.

The most likely reason for the clock resetting is the AquaController resetting due to power spikes. The electrical environment around you tank can be very noisy. For example when a powerhead or any other inductive load is turned off a voltage spike of several thousands volts is possible. This spike can cause problems with electronic equipment. So I recommend that you:

- Make sure that the AquaController is plugged into a surge protected outlet.
- Plug the AquaController into a different circuit than any inductive loads that are turning on/off frequently (pumps, chillers, power heads, etc.)
- Coil up cords to make them as short as possible.
- Do not route the AquaController's power cord in parallel with any inductive load that is turning on/off frequently. Physically separate them as far as possible.

dunno if this helps or not.. but i was having the same problem..
i am running aquanotes and there is a little check mark forupdating the clock..if you want you tank at a different time then the computer, you need to turn this feature off..
after 2 days i figured that one out..

hope that helps some
