Aclimating new arrival

Just the usual. Float the bag to allow temperature to gradually equilibrate. Check the salinity of your tank and of the shipping water. If they are the same, you can mix the water fairly quickly, say a cup and hour. If they are off by more than two or three parts per thousand, I would go a bit slower, It is also a good idea to keep the lights and disturbance to a minimum.

Many intertidal stomatopods are fairly tough and can withstand rapid shifts in temperature and salinity. After all, these variables can change rapidly on an exposed reef flat. Subtidal species generally require a bit more acclimation.

Sauron arrives today!

Bah, the great Glaurung scoffs at this silly Maiar upstart, as he knows that the Great Wyrms are Morgoth's most favorite servants.

Seriously, congrats, and a great name for the little monster.
