acro color changing

Hey yall, i bought a huge colony acro from a friend that was beige in his tank under his t5s. Ive had it now for a little over a month and now it had changed from boring beige to a bright tealish green/blue....Is this normal, good/bad??
My params are
Amm: 0
Trates: 0-5 ppm
trites: 0
pH: 8.2
sal: 1.024
calc: 420
alk: 11
Mag: 1350

I attached a really crappy iPhone photo (sorry for the debris floating in the tank...just did some cleaning!!!) The pic deosnt really do the acro justice....you can see the color on the left is what it used to be and now it ALL tealish/blue like on the right

I have one that looks really similar. Does it have purple tips for new growth? What lighting is it under now?

yup the purple tips are there.....they are under 2 giesemann actinic + t5s, 2 UV super actinic VHO, and a daylight UV VHO....
anyone else know if this is a problem?

Mine is also under vho's and it is the best growing sps I have had yet. Let me know if you find out what it is.

It could be differences between the tanks. your salinity i think is a little low get it to 1.026 and your alk is a little high i think most run around 9dkh. also could be differences in lighting but as long as you have the purple tips it should be ok

yea i have the hardest darn time keeping my ALK under 10. i dose by hand, but with the alk its only once or twice a week when calc and mag is every other day. if im not mistaken doesnt dosing the mag also in turn raise the alk?....
Its grows like a weed, ive just never seen these colors...i thought it might be a bad thing...it looks really cool tho!?!?

I think with most 2-part regiments you should not be dosing Mg every day. Usually you dose it all at once at the end of the bottles of 2 part, or at most halfway through your 2-part bottles, then again at the end if you want to split it up.

Yea I "sort of" knew that, right now im just trying to get my mag up to a better constant level. as of now i dose..
Monday - Cal
Tuesday - Alk
Wed - Mag, Cal
Thurs -
Fri - Cal
Sat - alk (if needed) (usually only dosing on tues)
Sun - Mag, and reef buffer (if needed)

Along with a water change every 10 - 14 days

zangmann, i am getting good polyp extension so i think i am being anal....just wasnt sure it was a "bad" change of colors....
