Acro Problems

I have a wild acro that hasn't been doing the best and I couldn't figure out why. The bottom of the acro was receding but there were no signs of pests. All other acros in the tank are doing great and growing well. Then I thought it could have been my perimeters, I checked them and they were normal as well. Then I noticed that the area of the acro that was being effected had slime around it sometimes, I just thought the acro was irritated and was slimming. A few days go by and I decide to take the acro out of the tank and inspect it. I found a HUGE vermeted snail living on the side of the rock that was being effected that I never noticed in the tank. I killed the snail and put the acro back in the tank.

My question is, can the mucus net from the vermeted snails make it so that the acro can't get gas exchange and cause it to recede?

Thanks for any help

yes possible, try to cover them with putty.

the "net" they send out blocks flow and light, some of my tabling acros have less color in some areas due to them.

It seems to be that they consume free floating debris, so filter socks have helped me limit their growth.
