Acro Tables

I'm sure there has been a thread about them before but lets start a new one.

Since I am not able to have a tank at the moment due to school and moving back and forth, I would like to live vicariously through you guys!

Tabling acros are my favorite coral and would just love to see all your pics. Brown or not, the shape adds so much to an aquascape IMO.

So Lets See 'Em! Efflos, hyacinthus, solitaryensis, some of the deepwater tables. I'd like it to be more of a picture thread, and not a name game thread. More about the latin names and not the name of the day. So if you could include the latin name of your coral with a pic, and if you don't know the latin name maybe we can ID them for you.

Lost this piece about a year ago, but this will get you started,

Efflo I picked up a couple weeks back. Starting to color up green with purple new growth, the tank it came from had a salinity crash and browned it out before I picked it up but it's doing great now.

Amazing pics guys.

Question for everyone, but I notice some mille's table and some don't. Do you guys think there are two species or it is due to conditions? or other factors?

I only have a 29 gallon Bio-Cube, but the red planet I had was tabling very nicely and had some insane colors! Sadly, I lost it when my tank crashed because of a heater exploded! :(

Here's apic of it:

Here is my largest table, A. latistella. The pic was taken with the camera on my IPhone( which can't capture the real color) so in real life it glows green almost like a candlelight acro.

Wow awesome pieces guys!!

n8ureman - at what size did you get that piece? Just curious.

daryn1 - got any top down shots?

kidult - that is for sure one of the coolest tables I have ever seen! Nice efflo! It is an efflo right? That color combo is amazing!

First time playin'

Tableing Acro's are also my favorite...

I've had this colony for about 5 or 6 years. It came in as an Indonesian Mariculture piece. I have pruned it many times over the years...growth on it is insane!

Recently saw on another popular website the ID of a goby that came in another maricultured Acro, I have since traded that piece out, but was able to get the goby to transfer into the one up top...I've had him for about 6 years. His name is Geronimo.

tcmfish - which table do You mean?

first and second - i think that was solityarensis. WAS because they gone when i was moving my tank.
third and fourth - IMO efflorescens, but who can know it?

n8ureman - at what size did you get that piece? Just curious.

I got it as a 2" frag about three years ago. When I got it I never knew it was going to table like it has. It I one of my favorite corals.

kidult - whoops. Thought they were the same piece and it had just colored up as it grew. Either way amazing stuff.

JD474,
That a huge table you got there.
Any info about the ID? How long have you had it and did it start as a frag?
