Gosh sorry to hear about the fish losses. So many
Have a thought about temporary UV or Ozone? Might help in boosting the water quality.
What do ya think any of the new additions brought this in? Or maybe a stressed fish got sick and it spread to the others?

I have thought about using ozone and it looks like a good possibility. I know that I added two clown fish and one developed a couple spots on it, the next morning they both vanished. My guess is that they had the disease and I missed a water change and was feeding less since I stopped using GFO. Just a bad time but its getting back on track.

Wouldn't run my system without ozone. Just my .02. Not saying that I haven't lost any fish, but far less than when I did not.. There is no substitute for quarantine, but I do believe that ozone helps.

I would need to research more on the subject. I have no idea how to use ozone but the more I think about it the more I think it would help my issues. I think I need to process the organics better.

Sorry to hear about your fish. Marine velvet is fast and nasty. Lost 30% of my fish to it about 2 months ago. No rhyme or reason to which ones died. On the upside all went back to normal without any major equipment changes but be aware that it lingers :beer:

here we go! broke out the underwater camera cuz I finally found the charger! Bought a new computer today so I hope this works out. The tank is being taken over by cyano and its starting to affect my gorgonians, I may dose chemi clean red slime remover to take it out. I was loosing the tank there for a bit but Ive got it back on track, the Hoek and birdsnest have taken a hit but all else is good other than a little color loss when I put GFO back online. Just great shots!!
Don't lose that charger again!! Underwater shots are cool
Corals do show growth tips and Good PE so it's only matter of time they colour up. Adding chemiclean? If so do keep an eye on nutrient spike.
How long the GFO been running? Thought about letting GFO run a while and mayb 3 days blackout?

Anup, the GFO has been running for about 2 weeks now. It is working well at keeping other algae at bay but does nothing for the cyano. I will be trying a 3 day black out but I doubt it will work. Nitrate was at 0.25 ppm and PO4 was zero, but I don have a Hanna checker yet so that is likely maybe 1ppm I'm guessing.

It is disgusting! Which is why I went out today and bought Red Cyano RX by Blue Life. I am going to dose it tomorrow and kill this **************************Bleepin stuff.
