This is my colony. I've had it for a few months now and seems to be doing well. Even a couple of the pieces that I fraged (to get it to fit nicely) have encrusted nicely.

Some of the corals in this thread looks more like A. Caroliniana or similar to me.

ooohhhh, just saying the name make my mouth water up.

You have to be a sps nut to like these guys but almost every acroholic has this piece at the top of their wish list.

The name just brings up memories. I had a large colony of it. In October I went to aruba for a week and my display tank crash. Lost this colony and a large colony of an ice enchinata. Made me sick.

What's your best guess on why the tank crashed?
 
I came from Sabah, island of Borneo where recent studies found a rare Suharsonoi acropora in our water. Basically Suharsonoi are deep water acros, rarely found high up on reef ecosystem. Most of them (at least in Sabah) are found at slightly turbid water with constant laminar water flow. Those found high up near the surface will tend to grow with much shorter stem. I wish I have one in my tank :P
