Another Day In Paradise
Hey people, I have a rock with 4 green Acros (Acropora)attached to it,the rock has some type of algea on it that I cant seem to get rid of.Can I just cut these guys off at the base and glue them on another rock?

Thanks !

Ricordias are hard to care for as it is. Best if you can remove frag and clean algea off.It a good practice anyway.I like to remove any and all other things with a wire brush and a good fresh water dip. If you do remove better to leave some rock attached.
With that said i think cureing the algea problem would be the best bet.

Thanks....capn_hylinur I 'll give that a try.Im just going to cut them off and put them on a clean rock..Its not a algae problem, its macro alga and its on the rock not the Acro.It is a thin hair that is hard to cut back because it is entwined in the 4 , one inch Acro frags on a 4x2 rock(NO, not hair algae). It wilts when you take it out of the water, thus making it even harder to remove. Its at the top of the tank so it grows like a weed. Its also an Acro and not Ricordia demonsp. Thanks:D ;)
