Acrylic Aquarium Manufacturer in the Midwest?

My tank is a Tenecor, 3/4" all around and it's 96"x96"x30". The tank is very sturdy but I will say that one seam is crazing, has been for a couple years. Tenecor has told me crazing is "normal" over time.

If I could do it all over again...I would probably try and do glass for 2 reasons. No scratching to deal with and no concerns over the seams. My issue was the location of my tank in the basement and physically getting it down there. It would have been near impossible to make the turn at the bottom of the stairs with glass.

Jose, you have more time than I to deal with your system, so acrylic works for you. I've rarely seen an acrylic tank that is in such good shape as yours (minus the bowing and seams). So I would recommend Envision and acrylic again for you. If you can't reinforce your floor for glass (though I don't know if you would need to since your I-beam is under there isn't it?). Whatever you do....let me know, I'm there to help.

The I beam is about two feet from the end of the tank and the tank runs parallel to the hoists so it is really supported only by two hoists. The reinforcement is really ony a couple of 2x4sin the middle of those two hoists as part of the wall by the bar in the basement.
Thanks for he offer to help. I think it will depend on the delivery of the tank, I am targeting around August probably.

Jose: I'll help in any way possible, as long as I am in town (away 8/1 to 8/15). Don't hesitate to call on me (Lord knows, I haven't hesitated to call on you!)

Jeremy at PA really likes IPI, I've heard they do great work from others too.

I owe you too! Let me know when it comes time to move

ps: mantis is doing great - It's already molted once and is looking forward to a larger tank soon.

 So you got that little bastige from Jose, huh? I remember that little putz looking and laughing at me "haha, I'm in the big tank and you can't get me".

Yeah I got him -

Funny thing was Jose moved it from the big tank to the basement and didn't even realize it!

I happened to be there having him check my RO water and I saw the little guy zipping around his holding tank. Came back a week or so and picked him up

Heh...I got the call the day Jose originally accidentally moved him from the QT tank up into the main tank. I believe he said the mantis was flipping him off as he dove down into the rocks where he lived for 3 years dining on a diet of turbo snails. :D

I was so angry after realizing that I moved him back that I had to call somebody!

That little fellow has a long history.

It took me two months of chasing to take him to the Q tank when he was a baby and accidentally I moved him back to the main when I needed some rock and took it from the Q tank forgetting he was there. I could swear he was giving me the finger and laughing his guts out when he found himself back in the main. I could hear something like nah nah nah nah naaaaah.

After a while I just gave up trying to take him out again and resigned my self to see the growing population of the snail cemetery (that is what I called the 6" by 6" section he piled the shells up). A year ago when re-doing the tank I removed some rock to the refugium which I think he was riding on accidentally but I never noticed.

About three months ago I wanted to see if cooking the rock will kill the Aiptasia so I took three rocks from the refugium and put it in a plastic bucket without light, heat or anything for about two months after which I set up the Q tank to place some of the baby BTAs and I put the rock in the refugium.

When Yankee came home he noticed the little guy in the Q tank (I did not know he was there). Now it was my turn to laugh after 18 months.

So the guy went from the main to the ref. from the ref back to the main, from the main back to the refugium from the refugium to cooking, then to the Q tank and finally he is probably getting a hero's life at Yankee's

Well it went a lot faster than I expected, manufacturer step up to the challenge given the risk I'm running and tank will be here on the 26th. Targeting the weekend of July 7 for the swap.
Here some pics of the semi-finished tank. Yes, it is 1" thick, I'm not risking it any longer :D

The main reason was that I wanted supersized top openings, the center brace is ony 4" wide. The second reason is that I wanted to minimize ballooning distortion.

Thanks Matt, I am wondering how to remove the old tank and replace the new one on the stand. I will need some strong muscle for "lift off" Saturday the July 7th around noon. It will be great if you will be around.
