Where can I find acrylic sheets. Looking for 1/4" measuring 4'x 8'. Ideally I would like to get a half sheet of clear and a half sheet of black. Any suggestions?

Hello Eric
What ya building?, be ready for some sticker shock...
I have been getting quotes as high as $188.00 for an 1/4"x4'x8' GP clear?

I was just at Streamwood Plastics yesterday and he quoted me approximately 3.50 a sq ft for 1/4" acrylic sheet (~112 per 4x8 sheet). Good luck with your project!

They are located just north of the Elgin O'Hare expressway off of the Wright Blvd exit.

Hello
Was that for Cyro GP .250 thick. Do they have a web sight?

He told me it was cast acrylic but I did not get the exact make of it as we just talked about how one goes about building and cutting and gluing it together. He was very knowledgable and took time to talk with me and walk around the shop to show me around. If I remember correctly the plastic wrapper did say GP on it if that helps (I am not sure if that was the acrylic he quoted me on though). Again, wish I had more info for ya.

As for a web site I do not know if they have one. I did a google search and found their address. They are only about 15 min from work so I went at lunchtime.

I have ordered from eStreet plastics as well and was very pleased. Very fast shipper and good prices. Many colored acrylic sheets to chose from.

Funny how I keep buying all this acrylic and I have nothing to show for it. I keep screwin' up my projects b/c I don't have the right tools and then I give up and just buy what I was trying to make in the first place :) .
