acrylic tank, how thick?

I am looking at having a acrylic tank built & I am unsure on what I should do. I have sent emails to a few companies & I am getting several options & I am not sure what is worth doing.

Dimensions I am looking at are 120x30x30 (maybe 120x36x30)

Should the tank be made out of .75 in completely or is .5in top/bottom OK? One company even gave me a price for the entire tank to be made out of .5 in.... SCARY Or should I ask for prices on 1 in thick everywhere?

Any thoughts on what I should/shouldn't do?

1) Talk to Envision. James makes only the best!

2) Mine is 72" x 48" x 26"...not as big as you are planning and it is 1" all around. Go thicker, it doesn't cost that much more.

I have a 120x36x30. Mine is 1.25" sides and 1" top and bottom. Anything less than 1" 120 long and 30 high (your dimensions) would show some deflection. I'm 30" high also and I wanted as close to 0 deflection as I could get... hence the 1.25. Probably complete overkill though.

A tank that size I would go with 1" thick.

My new tank is 96"x48"x26" and it is 1" all sides and top. The bottom is 3/4". No deflection at all. At least that I can see.

Bowing in an acrylic tank will over time cause issues.

my tank is 96"x48"x30" and it is 3/4"with no deflection. My tank is made by ******* and is very well built. Plus they have a very good waranty.

The company is probably filtered for some reason.
My first 96-36-30 was .75 and lasted about 2 years before it broke now it is 1 inch with zero bowing.
