acrylic tank overflow

I am looking at a new 180 to replace the old one. I want to do a calfo external overflow. The tank would be 1/2 in acrylic 72x24x24 with an overflow across the back 12 in deep and 6 in wide can this be done? and anyone know any GOOD places to order? I tried one place but he wouldn't do it, saying the overflow comprimises the tank unless I make it the full depth of the tank, making the tank 72x30x24. I do not want to rebuild stands and have seen pics of the overflows and none were the complete backwall of the tank.

Check out my gallery I had Aquatic Design Habitat make mine. it's 72x30x24 the overflow runs the whole back except for space on each end for a 1" bulkhead

they have a price list on the web site. the overflow was not much extra. I can't recall how much.
