Actinic Lighting

The typical bulb alignment for PC or T5 seems to be half actinic and half white. Is there a reason for that? I may be mistaken, but it seems like the actinics bring out the "color" in the corals and I wondered if anyone has gone with an actinic heavy lighting package? I was thinking maybe 4 and 2 on a 6 bulb set-up.

I have gone 4 and 2 and 5 and 3 with the white being the Gisman 11k it is just a matter of tradeoffs color vs growth.

As long as I get to trade off algae growth too, I am ok with that

Nutrients plus light = Algae. You have to limit the nutrients to control the growth not just the light.
