There's really nothing to cycle in an empty tank with just sw. The "cycle" is really just waiting for bacteria populations to build up. Those bacteria will live in the sand and LR. IMO, no need for a shrimp, your LR addition should have enough die off to feed the bacteria and kick start the process.

Great idea !

I have a central air conditioning system in my place that can easily keep the temperature of the room constant during the summer. I'll need some good heaters, because during winter it can get quite chilly up here in Canada !

But that's a good suggestion for the lights !
