Activated Carbon? good/bad??

Is it ok to put a filter cartridge of carbon in my sump to clear some of the water up? Like just setting it in the sump? help! I have some carbon here and i didnt know if that would help it at all. Thanks

as long as there is flow through it, not over it, and its changed once every two weeks. if you do weekly/bi-weekly waterchanges you should notice clearer water immeadiatly.

I add about a cup of carbon to my tank once a month for about a week. Carbon loses its effectiveness quicker than people realize.

I change mine every 2 or three weeks. The carbon with regular water changes will help.

Get your self a media bag and throw some Marineland Black Diamond Carbon in it. Put it in a high flow area and change it out monthly.
