We need one for reefers in San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita.

Seems like reefing just isn't super popular in Southern Cali so there isn't tons of support to create more localized reef clubs.
Coming from a city with about 1/6th the population of just Orange County alone, I'm blown away to see there is only ONE REEF CLUB for ALL off Southern California despite covering such a massive area and absurd number of people.
Not gonna drive 4-6 hours round trip to pick up a frag from someone on the forum...

Hello to Buffalo. You're incorrect and to add to what Benny said I need to ask you, "œhave you ever been here"? I've been to Buffalo and our two cities are very different, mainly traffic. LA and Orange counties are very spread out. I live in the northernmost area of La County. Everyone and everywhere is far from me and my area has some very good and knowledgeable reef peeps but not enough to have a club. We have/had several great clubs, one in the OC area, one in the southern beach area of LA and one somewhere in the middle. SCMAS is extremely successful but is 80-100 miles door to door one way and with Friday rush hour traffic it'd be a 3 hour drive to get there by 7 so no can do. The SCRK club would be about the same just in a different direction. The problem with MASLAC was that we couldn't find a good meeting spot acceptable to all involved and it faded. I'd host but no one will drive to me, especially speakers. With our population, need for cars and our widespread demographics it's extremely difficult to get a club solid long term. It's definitely not a lack of passion or laziness that's for sure!Actually knowing a lot of Reefers personally I would have to disagree. Especially compared to other states. We have a giant amount of Reefers here and stores. Issue is life. People have kids, jobs, wives and other hobbies. It's hard to find a day where all of that doesn't get in the way of going to a reef meeting.

Southern California Reefers forum encompasses all of SoCal so all the different clubs posted under the one forum. I'm not sure why SCRK stopped I only think I know why MASLAC didn't return to its former glory...I'd like to see it back. Its the only club that was a viable option and I'm willing to help in some capacity.
Anecdotally, if there was enough support for a reef club in the different counties they should exist. But it's consolidated into one giant (relatively ineffective due to the sheer distances) club.
