Introduction

Hello people of Reef Central,
My name is Adam and I have been in this hobby for just over two and a half years now. In that period of time I started out with an aqua reef 200 (All in one tank) and kept this for about 12 months. I kept many LPS and soft corals in it, most of which I still have today. After about 8 months I started to get board with the small tank and put in an order for a new one. I have had this new tank for about a year and a half now.

Very nice! I am a huge fan of the Radion, I am glad to see you are getting sufficient coverage with only two units. Oh, and your Elegance Corals are phenomenal. :)

thanks,
I do love elegance corals. I will post some close up shots of some of my corals later on in the week.

the radions cover the tank flawlessly. I couldn't tell the difference between 2 of the radions or a pair of 250w MH and T5s, plus all the bonuses of having LEDs

Quick update guys,

As my leather coral would not open anymore,
I traded it to an acquaintance of mine for 2 x zoo colony rocks, i never thought i would like zoos but these fire ones and green ones seem to have something about them I like.

I will try post some more pic’s in the next 48 hours but this is all I could be bothered with tonight.

thanks again guys

To be honest I did not get a recommendation from Ecotech at all. I just ordered the two, if I had seen a dark patch in the middle of the tank I would have just ordered another one but I have an even spread and I’m happy with the brightness/ colour.

Hey newbie,

I have a mated pair of long nose hawkish in my tank, I have kept small fish and the hawks have never bothered anything.

With that harlequin in there, I'm not sure he has any shrimps ;)

Awesome dimensions... And a great scape... LOVE me a nice harlequin tusk!!!

And jus to help, that "green cluster acro", appears to be a green cats paw.. A stylophora I beleive... Again, I may not have looking at the right thing...

And I really like the look of only 2 radions on your tank... Pretty sweet job so far...

Great setup! I love the Elegance Corals and the clarity of your tank.

What type of growth have you received with Radions?

Thanks guys,

newbie:
My clean up crew includes many small-large snails and hermits. I have never seen the hawks touch anything live.

on the other hand when i throw a frozen prawn in the tank the hawks have no problem grabbing one whole and showing it off everyone else... lol

ow, and i also have a large blue painted crayfish and a large coral banded shrimp. They also cause me no issues.

if you are considering a long nose hawk i would have no problem recommending one to you in the correct environment.

pallobi:

thanks for your kind words,

you are most likely right about the cats paw coral. All i know is i purchased it as a cluster coral off an online propagation supplier... who knows....

dan:

I have got good growth from my radions, if you look at the first image of the page you will see a green acro in the top left side of the shot.

Today that same acro has tripled in width and doubled in height. Also, the tiger squmosa has gained about a quarter more of its size in the last 4 months...
