I am wondering if I can add 2 Female pylei wrasses to a tank with an established male in it? H ehas only been in the tank for 3 days, but I already want females for him. Just an amazing fish!

I have been looking around, but don't want to spend $200 on two females if my male will just end up killing them.

I am also not completly positive he is a male, but his bottom fins extend almost all the way to his tail fin, and I was told that was a major trait of the males...

For reference...here he is. He is about full grown, 4 inches or so.

I dont see any problems at all, other than your tank is a bit small. That could be your only issue. It looks like a young male to me.

Well, they only have one female right now. Would only adding one now, and another when they get another in be worth while?

My tank is a little small, but these three, and my two clowns in my BTA are the only inhabitants. Should I still be concerned? I have plenty of live rock, and a nice fuge underneath providing ample pods...

If that's all the fish you have then you should do well. Add the first one and see how it goes. The females tend to be more aggressive, so dont wait too long before you add the second one.

Well they sold out before I coul dget one. I am on the waiting list. Hopefully I can get a couple sometime this summer.
