Add R/O Water and Skimmer Going Crazy

It seems like almost everytime I add R/O or pre-mixed salt water into my tank for top off or water change my skimmers are going crazy. I don't know why:

I have 2 skimmer, G-1 upgraded to 5000 pump, G-3 upgraded to 9000 pump. R/O float valve is inside the sump between 2 skimmers. R/O is coming directly from sink-filter-tank. Whenever I add R/O water into my tank as my G-1 skimmer going crazy and overflow the collection cup or the 3 gal jug. It's also the same thing when I change the water.

My tap water TSD reading is 360+ and after R/O it's around6-12.
I used the same R/O to mix my with Redsea Pro salt for about 1-2 days with lot of circulations, then use it for water change. Again G-1 is going crazy.

I also keep the left over or extra mixed saltwater in a 55 gal container with water circulation and use them as needed. Is this a good idea and how long can it stay in the container before dumping it out ?

Please help, any suggestion would greatly appreciated.

I don't know what going on with your skimmers but you R/O output seams high in TDS. Mine is around 400 going in and 1 coming out. Most TDS meters have an accuracy of +/- 20 points.
Lots of people keep 55 gallon drums with water in them my self included. I have never heard of a problem with it. Some say you don't need to keep it circulating constantly, but just for an hour or two a day.

ro water comming out at 6-12 isnt bad, if he added a post DI unit he would get 0 tds.

My skimmer usualy goes nuts after a water change also

Are your skimmers in the sump? Some skimmers are cranky about water level. Could be the water level is higher after the topoff and causing the skimmer level to rise.

thank you for all your help, I am going to change the filter out and hopefully it lower the TSD level. I also think that the 5000 pump is too much for the G-1 skimmer, I will convert back to 3500 model.

If the Sedra 5000 is a recirculating pump dont worry, Ive seen sedra 9000 on G1. But of course you need a pump to feed it.

If the sedra 5000 isnt being used as the recirculation mod, then indeed the S5000 is to strong.
