fishworld in blue springs. Sorry, don't have numbers on me right now but you can check in the phone book fairly easily. If you can't find them, send me a pm.

Thanks Roni!

Don't know where you work, but I will be at the KU medical center in Kansas City on Sunday for training. I'm staying in Lawrence today and the weather made me want to nap today. I'm going to check around tomorrow afternoon:)

Whew!

Well I finally rolled back into town and got home late last night. I was really glad to see that Mrs. Hop did a great job keeping the tank going. In fact the coraline really took off while I was gone and things are looking really healthy! I think that I may have to work on some cooling issues soon, but all and all, I'm really happy. She only had one mishap to report and that was a shallow scratch to the front pane. Looks like an afternoon to fix that.

I spent the morning looking at the tank and debating on a skimmer upgrade. I'm really looking at putting another riser on the Mr3 and possibly a second becket. I'm also looking at some new critters for the tank...

It feels really good to be home and thanks to Melev for helping out Mrs. Hop a little!

Very glad all went well. I have a feeling you both will enjoy the tank even more now. Do you have to leave town again in a few weeks? I seem to recall you mentioning two training sessions.

I should be home for at least a few months as long as everything goes well. If there are any problems I may have to go back for some maintenance, but otherwise it should only mean being out of town a few weeks a year:)

I wound up being gone for a week longer than I expected, but got a much better deal out of the program. Now I'm off for ten days so i'm itching to get some upgrades done. Who knows maybe I'll finish the woodwork..... Nah..... I can do that later!

Great to hear it all went well! Post some pics when you get the chance ok?

Thanks and I'm excited to get some pics up... First I have to get my snorkle and scrape the coraline off the front pane:)

melev - i just listed to reefcast 4 and 5 while i was working out this week...oh such a pump from reefcast...not even close to the music i usually listen to while pumpin it up but that is the only time i can find to listen to them. they are great. i like a lot of the topics you ahve discussed, vendor bashing, gfi's, refractometers, etc. great stuff. do you poke fun at me in EVERY episode?? :P let me know when you guys want to have me do a show...i know you mentioned it in the last one. not sure what you want to do a show on but i'm game. just pm or email me.

aka "mr behind the times" or something to that effect

hehehe. Tis true, Eric, you get jabbed for some reason.

Evan's had the next one for the past couple of weeks, trying to get it edited for public consumption. I'd really like to hear the final version some time soon. We have to buy a mixer to take calls, unfortunately. And new headsets.

Well I still have not done much scraping, but thought that I would at least get some pictures up. Spent most of today doing the Easter thing with the kids and tinkering in the wet room. I've got to get some replacement pads for the tiger shark ordered and I'm going to look into a scraper with a long handle so I don't have to hold my breath while I scrape the viewing panes:)

Otherwise I've been doing some window shopping for some new critters. I've been looking at something in a school. Maybe 11 or 13 chromis or some anthias... Then I was going to look into some other helpful things to help the clean up crew a tad and dreaming about some new corals.

That's all I could get for now as my batteries died:)

Couple things: Try using a length of PVC pipe on the end of your scraper like an extension. I have the Kent long-handle scraper with the red insert and found that it fits perfectly into 1/2" PVC pipe. So I just cut a length and have at it!

The chromis are way cool. I highly recommend them for a number of reasons. First I really like the colors and how they change under different lighting. I also like that they don't get too big. But I think their biggest positive is that they are very active around the reef and tend to draw out shy fish. They school quite a bit which is unusual in a captive reef but that may be a function of tank size. They really mirror each other and are very attentive to me...since they know I mean food!

Pics look great. Glad you didn't come home to a disaster. :D

Hop, found your thread again - yay! A few weeks ago I accidently hit "Unsubscribe from all threads" so I missed your return. Glad to see that you kept the tank and that all is okay. Welcome back! :)

jnarowe: The LFS didn't have one, so I ordered one along with the replacement pads for my tiger shark. Sounds like a good solution... Thanks!

andiruleu: Thanks, the wife gave me a to do list to make it homey for her:)

pmike25: Thanks. It has a long way to go, but it is my little piece of the ocean and I like it. And from one politically incorrect to another... Happy Easter!

otterpop510: I'm sorry you went through the whole thread:) Seriously thanks, I think I learned more during this build than during any other venture. But I still have a long way to go.

NCreefwannabe: LOL, yeah I guess I did have a case of buyers regret after the build. After all that work, I encountered a few problems and was not looking forward to more work at the time. As far as the camera goes, I really can't take breathtaking pictures, I just don't have the knack for it. I can't even take a picture that shows how big the tank really is. I always feel the tank looks like a 100 gallon tank when I look at the pictures:rollface:

NexDog: Thanks, I'm pretty sure you didn't miss anything by unsubscribing. Your tank looks great! Nice to see your vision taking shape!

RC really needs to add a conformation prompt before you "unsubscribe from ALL threads"
