I have an existing clown fish (true perc) female. It was originally in a mated pair but I had a accident and the male did not make a move. I decided to try and get another male and see if they would pair up. I ordered one off the Internet and specified a small one thinking that it would not have reached sexual maturity. The problem I have is I like to quarantine them for 4 weeks before adding to the display tank and I am afraid that the small clown fish will change to a female. Should I add my existing female to the quarantine tank with the risk of getting her sick. Or is 4 weeks a too short of a time for the new clown to become female?
Thanks for the help.
