Adding Black clown pair to already established maroon pair

Any chance of that succeeding in a 45 gallon tank? Has anyone kept these two in close quarters with any success?

General consensus is one clownfish pair per tank

I've seen perculas and skunks together but that tank was 180g

A maroon pair will most likely kill them, especially in a 45 Love maroons, and yours look great, but when they get bigger they will clean house on that tank and your hands as well. good luck

I had lightning maroons with mocha oscellaris and the lightnings took their nem, lunch money and pride. Had to remove the maroons.

I personally would not chance it. Just my opinion, but I guess I do not like to risk a fight if it can be avoided. Good luck with the larger tank when you get it. I love hand me downs. :beer:

I have 5 maroon clowns (not all together) they are very aggressive (they even attack/bite me). I would not even think of putting in another clown species...

One tank I have one female with two males (breeding), another tank has one female and I am just in the middle of introducing what I think is a male to her..

It's working for me, all three are living very closely together and it appears all three are taking care of the eggs after a spawn...they don't fight and all three get along great.

wow cool, I saw your other post. Tbh the Male/female looks like a Female to me. pretty big and im sure im wrong but ive always felt when they get that dark color that means they have turned to the female dark side... lol

I know my Female went from bright Maroon to dark maroon within a month after adding the little male
