adding fish from anothers tank

I am going to buy a purple tang from a healthy tank that has been in the tank for years. Do I need to worry about qt for this guy?

I would QT any new acquisition. Even though the tank is healthy, there's no guarantee the fish isn't carrying a parasite at a sub-clinical level.

I would add that personally would run it through TTM. If the other tank anything added recently then it could have carried ich with it but has not shown its head just yet.

Nailed it, treat all acquisitions as if they have ich and flukes

Thanks guys. I will be bringing my powder blue and idol out of qt before I pick up the purple. I am not set up for ttm so I will make sure he is eating in the qt tank and start some copper and prazi
