adding float switches?

I want to add float switches to my sump. The ones from ebay. How do you mount them? Im guessing I should use 4. One for top off, second one to shut off and third for fail safe and the 4th one goes were my top off water is coming from to shut off pump.

Im using the Neptune breakout box by the way.

I bought some replacement magnets from tunze used in mounting their ato float switch. Have one in my ato reservoir and two in the sump. Can't imagine anything easier.

Tunze "spare parts shop" on their website. Once you click that link in their menu, search for osmolator and then select from the non-nano/standard unit. They're pricy at $32 each but way more convenient then trying to heat and bend plastic at the exact right height.

Bit confused - why 4? Yyou say one for top off and one to shut off. Why not use the same one for both these tasks? When it's closed you pump, when it's open you stop? Or do you always want to pump a minimum amount - sort of have a start topping up level and a stop topping up level, rather than the traditional target level where you pump if it's below and stop when it reaches it/goes over it?

I use the neptune b/o box also. I have two in the sump. One controls the on/off cycle and the other is the safety. I have mine zip tied to egg crate. The egg crate is zip tied (through drilled holes) to PVC I set up in a T. As an additional safety I only allow the pump to come on between 6-9pm so no crazy overflows in the middle of the night if the switches fail or if the skimmer decides to go crazy.
