Adding RO Membrane Auto Flush Timer

I hope this is the correct place to post this.
I have an AirWaterIce Typhoon RO/DI setup and was looking to add an auto membrane flush timer. I often forget to manually flush my membrane and from what I understand this could reduce the life of the membrane.

Does anyone use one?
Are they useful?
Are they easy to setup?
Has anyone ever used one with a Typhoon unit?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Yep. They work well. They run off the same transformer and wiring harness as the rest of the aquatec products. you can set them up in a couple of different ways.

1. Some have built in flow restrictors, and you simply remove your existing flow restrictor and run it through the aquatec auto flush flow restrictor. They open (flush) for 18 seconds per hour.

2. One does not have a built in flow restrictor, so you put a wye fitting in your waste line, run one leg through the auto flush and the other leg contains the flow restrictor. We like this configuration better because it allows you to fiddle with/adjust/change your flow restrictor for only $4. You're not locked into the flow resrictor inside the more expensive auto flush solenoid.

Russ,
Thanks so much for the info. I'm going to check your site but I'll ask as well.....do you carry these?
Thanks again.

OK i see you do carry them. My question is that my current system has a manual fast flush flow restrictor. Do I get the auto flush solenoid valve or do i get the kit which includes the flow restrictor (blue tube)?

I believe I would need the kit and it would be put right in place of the current manual fast flush flow restrictor?

Thoughts, corrections?
Thanks.

Great! Just saw your PM with the links.
Maybe you can direct me to the aquatec transformer as well.

Thanks again.

Because you already have a flow restrictor, I'd opt for an auto flush w/o the built in restrictor. You'd keep your existing flow restrictor.

I'm trying to stay away from making a commercial post here - so check your PM's please.
