adding wrasse to 180 compatibility?

My question is I have a 180 gallon tank standard 72" x 24" x 25" dimensions.

I want to add a few wrasse, Ive been looking at a mcCoskers flasher, a solar fairy, and a Christmas wrasse (claudia not the other)

My current fish are a midas blenny, royal gramma, firefish goby, 2 occ. clowns and a target mandarin

1) would all these fish get along?
2) would the 3 wrasse be too much pod competition for the mandarin?

If only two would work which two would be best?
If only 1 which one?
If none, well that sucks

Where is evolved when i need him lol.

there is a sticky in the "new to hobby" forum where steve (snorvich) will give you his take on fish compatibility. it would be a perfect place to pose this question.

i have 3 wrasses (yellow coris, yellow fin flasher, red velvet fairy) in my 75g and they get along well with everything else plus they are super active and very, very pretty.

All of those should be fine in a 180. The only one that will pick at pods is the H. claudia, the other 2 feed from the water column.

So in a 120 I have the following wrasses.
Melanarus
Dusky
Neon pencil wrasse
mystery wrasse
Christmas wasse
2 Blue star leopard wrasses
Cortez wrasse
Solar wrasse
Yellow coris wrasse
Scots fairy wrasse
8 line wrasse
Formossa wrasse.

They all get along well. After QT I use an in tank qt box with sand. This allows the other fish to see the new member. If they get aggressive they spend a day or two beating themselves up against the acylic box. After a few days to a week they kinda forget about the new fish.

Thanks for replies all. And holy crap that's about of wrasse HV. Didn't think 8 lines and mystery's were to fond of other wrasse. Guess that acclimation box works well

By the way I've heard some Flasher's and fairy lose color with out other s around. Would it be likely that the mcCoskers and solar would flash at each other? I understand this behavior helps them retain more vibrant color? Sorry if this is a dumb question.:hmm2:

That is true that when left by themselves male flasher and fairy wrasses can lose color, but when kept with close relatives they will display to them and retain their colors.

I will caution though, that even then in some cases the heirarchy gets so well defined that one wont challenge the other and colors can fade, but this is a slower process than one kept on its own.

The mckosker and solorensis should be closely enough related to display to each other.
