Posting this for two reasons:

1. To confirm my stocking plans.
2. To also get my post over the point where I can post things in trade/sell forum as I have several things that need to move out.

So on to #1.

240g (96x24x24) with 300+lbs of LR, Large Aqua C EV-240 Skimmer and wet/Dry.

Stock list seems right but is there room for anything else..ideas?

Volitan Lionfish
Snowflake Moray
Goldentail Moray
Yellow Tang
Blond Naso Tang
Queen Angel
Aust Harequin Tusk

Wondering if there is room for 1 more? I already have all but the Naso and Tusk in 2 different tanks right now.

Right now the eels, yellow tang, and lion are in the 240 with a Miniatus grouper and the Queen in a 75g holding tank till I can sell that Grouper.

Everyone gets along fine for now.

Your list looks good for a FOWLR to me, but if I were to add one more it would be a trigger for sure. IF you do , stay away from the real aggressive ones because they have been known to nip the fins of lions. Go with a Blue throat, crosshatch, pinktail, sargassum or even a Niger.

On quick note on your skimmer...make sure you have a auto-topoff to keep your sump level consistant or you will have a heck of a time keeping the skimmer adjusted.

HTH

Thanks...I have a baby Niger in my 75, I may move him after he grows some.

I keep my skimmer external with a Mag submersible in my sump so water level is constant.

The final fish I might add would be one of these, THOUGHTS?

Sohal Tang - Too big and mean?
Niger Trigger - Lions fins?
Majestic Angel - War with Queen?
Porkfish - Too big?
Auriga Butterfly - Too Fragile?
A shoal of 8-10 Green Chromis - Lion food?

Would any one of these be better?

Thanks all.

I pretty much agree with your comments, above. I'd probably add the niger trigger, or a pinktail. I'd leave the queen as the only angel. Avoid the sohal for sure, not sure how big porkfish get, agree butterfly too fragile and the chromis would not last.

I think you definitely need a trigger.
I would replace the yellow tang with a mimic tang (subtler colors, but a super fish).

Nice tank size. I'd much rather have your tank than my 6' 210. Well thought out stocking list.

So it is full?

240g 8'x2'x2'

Volitan Lionfish
Snowflake Moray
Brazilain Golden Moray
Yellow Tang
Aust Harlequin Tusk
Large Maroon Clown
Queen Angel
Blond Naso Tang - Male
Niger Trigger

In that order.

I own them all already (Except Naso). The Lion is the biggest at 9-10".

you don't think they can stay stocked in that tank for life? That's what I was shooting for. A community of fish that could reside for life.

Well the queen, naso and niger are going to get huge. Having those three in the tank with other fish, all full grown, probably won't work. They will be cramped, but you never know. How small is the smallest fish? A lion that big could probably take down a baby niger, 2-3" fish.

The Niger is the smallest and I may keep him in my 75g for now with some eels and power feed him.

I have heard a lot of poeple say the Niger is a SLOW grower...like 1" or so a yr and as the Queen is 1-2"/yr I think I should be good to go for many many many years.

I just don't want to overdo the bio-load.

I've got an Aqua C - EV-240 being driven by a Mag 18. Rated to up to 350g. And I have over 300lbs of LR. Afraid the Queen will be my 1 big Angel (aka centerpiece)

Do you think a Flame Angel will be ok with plenty (over 300lbs) of LR? And multiple caves. Or is he doomed as Lionfish food?

Hard to say if the lion will make food out of the flame. Maybe if you got the biggest flame you could find, around 4" or so. But the lion will get bigger. Why are you getting rid of the grouper? I think the niger would make a great last fish. Just be weary of the lion eating him if he is small enough and when the trigger gets older, chewing on the lions fins. Damsels would be another option, like yellowtails etc. They are aggressive, scrappy and make great fowlr additions to add some movement and color. Not to mention they eat the scraps left behind and are cheap, so if they do get picked off, not a lot of money down the drain. The damsels are pretty quick though, lions are usually slow, don't know if they'd get eaten. What other fish are you looking to add?

Currently in main Display (240g):
Large SFE
Volitan Lion
Yellow Tang
Aust Harlequin Tusk
Jumbo Maroon Clown
Queen Angel

Got rid of the grouper because of several reason, he was a brutal bully, ate all the food from the lion and eel, stayed hidden, and was a huge bioload that I could replace with a Blond Naso.

Current 75g:
Blond Naso Tang - QT for 2 more weeks
Small Niger Trigger
Maroon Clown
White Eyed Moray
Goldentail Moray - Yellow Morph

Thinking of adding (once Naso is moved to main tank)
Flame Angel
some Damsels (Blue & Yellow Tailed, and 4 striped)
and possibly a Threadfin Butterfly

This would be a small fish tank until I decide to move my Golden Moray to the display or I find a Japanese DME which will require most/all 75g inhabitanats to be moved to the main display tank. As I will give the 75g to the DME and Damsels..aka Food.
