Adee's new build

Adee,

I see your tank is once again full :) and what a great sight that is... time to break out the heavy fragging tools. some fragging photos would be awesome too

Hello...yes it is!....I intend rescaping with smaller pieces with some pieces that I've been nursing in the frag tank for the last year or so. Tank will get a complete revamp.

Amfynn,
You have some pretty good skills there ( patience too )
How do you like the Orphek's?
Hi, thanks....the Orpheks are doing a great job!

Just curious, how high do you have them off the water? I like the pendant look. Makes the tank look sophisticated.
they about 40cm above the water surface

thanks!

Simply amazing...
thank you!

You made an amazing tank. I like the coral growth.

Are these four Orphek LEDs enough for the 660 gallons tank ?

Looking great as always, Adriaan - thanks for sharing those updates. I finally got to see the Orphek's at Macna this year - they are impressive...The LEDs are truly becoming viable replacements for MHs. You should come and set up a booth at the show in Florida next year - would love to meet you in person and chat over a cold beer! How's that lovely Majestic doing?

Heya, thanks Mike...perhaps one day when I decide to cross the Atlantic...would love to chat (well, any excuse to a have a beer, I'm there). The Orpheks are doing very well...I really also love the specs on their Atlantik's, awesome stuff to be had in the LED space.

The Majestic is doing very well, so is the Regal and Asfur....I've had no issues from them at all. Thought I may have some issues with some clams I added a long while back, but the angels are behaving themselves....hope they stay like that.

Aloha from Hawaii. Your tank is truly inspirational. Here in Hawaii, reef tanks aren't as popular as one might think for several reasons, high cost of electricity, and you can always put on a mask, and some fins to see sunlit natural reef "tanks" at the nearest bay. Sadly many reefs are declining (even protected ones). In a sense, your tank is better than nature and almost too perfect and the corals are getting big where it may have taken decades on a reef.

I'm busy chopping down the sps, tank is just too full at the mo. I've sold off the Orphek DIF pendants...so tank it back to only running off sunlight.

Once I've finished with my rescape with new (and fewer) sps pieces.... I'll be upgrading to the new Orphek Atlantik's.

So other than corals growing right against the glass and running out of water (right on the surface)....things are just ticking along with no issues.

I plan to sell off the big colonies I'm not too keen on keeping anymore.

Time for system reboot!

Well....some last updates of the tank in its current form. I've already started chopping down some chunks, also removed some of the smaller pieces already. Amazing the amount of dead coral hidden from view. Time for a system reboot.

Also removed all the DIF's....running only on sunlight at the moment...will be upgrading the lighting once I've finished with the re-scaping.

Quite a bit of the corals have reached the surface, also growing against the glass....so its a job that has to be done! Hope to eliminate the blue sponge epidemic as well the unwanted majano and mushrooms from the display.
